You may choose to take the scent test without the Scent Palette as well, but we don’t encourage this approach, as each note may smell different than you anticipate.

What happened to my account?

What is Scent Trunk?

Scent Trunk designs original fragrances for you based on a guided process of discovery. It starts with a Scent Test. The Scent Test is meant to be fun and shared with friends. Take time to sample a Scent Palette, then using the Scent Test, tell us what you like and what you don’t. We’ll send you an original fragrance based on your response.

What does a Subscription cost?

A 30-day supply (5ml Atomizer) of your custom fragrance will cost $16 per month if you decide to opt in.

Shipping is free for domestic (US) customers, unless expedited options are chosen.

What is the Scent Test?

The Scent Test consists of a sample palette of our core ‘fragrance families’ that we will base your custom design upon. It is used to help you discover what you like - and what you don’t, so we can design the best fragrance for you.

After you rate the Scent Test, we’ll send you your choice between a two week, one month, or every other month supply of your custom fragrance for $16 (per 10ml atomizer) plus a free shipping option.

What is your cancellation policy?

You can cancel at any time from your My Account page. Or use the contact page and we’ll be happy to assist you (it will just take a little bit longer if we do it).

Is Scent Trunk available in my country?

Scent Trunk is available Internationally, but please check with your local customs office to ensure fragrance will not be an issue.
Due to regulatory restrictions, Scent Trunk does not currently ship to the following Countries:

I just signed up for the Scent Test, when will it ship?

After you order your Scent Test, you’ll receive shipping confirmation within 2-3 business days by email. US customers will receive tracking numbers when their order ships and should receive your package within 5-7 business days by USPS after you receive shipping confirmation.

International customers will receive shipping confirmation within 2-3 business days and can expect their package to arrive in 7-14 business days. Depending upon the shipping method chosen at checkout, International customers may or may not have access to tracking.

Is this for men or women?

Anyone can wear fragrance. Taking the Scent Test is the best way to understand your preferences. We take the gender element out of equation and create something based on your preferences.

If gender is important to you, however, we are well equipped to make the scent masculine or feminine.

How do you know what fragrances I like?

Instead of using creepy ‘big data,’ we base each design on how you rate each of the scents in the Scent Palette. This way we can determine what smells you love, like and dislike. Make sure you follow the instructions in the kit for the best experience. If you’re uncertain right away, come back to it later, or add your thoughts to the comments section at the end.

What if I don’t like every scent in the Scent Test?

That’s expected! We depend on you to prefer some and avoid some - that’s how we hone in on what makes your scent unique!

What do I do with the Scent Palette after I have rated each scent?

The Scent Palette is designed to be shared. After you do the rating, we encourage you to gift it to a friend. Friends don’t let friends smell bad. ;)

What do I do after I complete the Scent Test?

Hold tight! Our team gets started on crafting your personalized fragrance just for you. As soon as we get your ratings, we’ll start curating your supply of personalized fragrance.

What if I don’t like the personalized fragrance you picked out for me?

That’s OK! Just send us an email to Service@ScentTrunk.com and we will send you another one right away. The first one we remake for you is free of charge. We want to make sure you get a fragrance that you love.

When do you ship my fragrance?

Your order will automatically renew every two weeks (14 days), every month, or every other month (based upon your billing date) after you initiate your first personalized fragrance subscription. As soon as the order renews, we will start putting your box together!

What if I want to get a new fragrance or just change up my fragrance for a new season?

No problem at all! If you want a new fragrance, simply take the scent test again and add the new subscription to your cart and checkout. You can cancel your previous subscription by going to your order history. Or you can always reach out to us via our contact form and we will handle it for you!

Where is my tracking number?

We’ll send you shipping confirmation and a tracking number to your Scent Trunk email. You can also access tracking by logging into your account on our website. Make sure you check your spam or junk folder!

What currency do you charge in?

We charge in USD ($).

Are there any hidden fees?

No there are NO hidden fees. If you ever see a fee that isn’t spelled out and acknowledged by you during the checkout process, please let us know right away and we will fix it as quickly as possible.

How much does shipping cost?

For domestic customers, your personalized fragrance shipping cost is absolutely free!

International customers and customers who want expedited shipping, your total will be calculated at checkout based on the method you choose, the weight of your order, and the distance you are from our facility. We do not charge handling fees.

How do I update my Billing information?

You can update your billing address or credit card information from your account here

Why did my payment fail?

If for some reason your payment failed, you can update your billing information here

The most common reason is that the address you put for your ‘billing address’ does not match the address on your bank statement for that payment method.

Sometimes, banks won’t recognize or may flag online companies in which case you may have to call your bank and approve the charge. Once you authorize it once, you won’t have to worry about it in the future!

Can I re-subscribe a cancelled subscription?

You can re-subscribe from your account here if your account was created after September 1st, 2018.

Can I change my scent preferences?

Yes you can always to your account and make changes. Our preferences change all the time, don’t hesitate to make changes and discover new fragrances. If you need assistance, we’re here to help!

What if I don’t like the personalized fragrance you send me?

Telling us whether you loved, liked or hated the fragrance from the Scent Test helps us better understand your preferences. If you rated the Scent Test, received your fragrance and didn’t love it let us know right away by email and we’ll send you a new one for free.
